Request for Energy-Saving Actions
- Sophia School Corporation
Due to the scarce of energy, electricity, gas, and energy prices are rising. These prices at the Yotsuya Campus are expected to increase by 100 million yen this year. In addition, this summer’s electricity supply capacity in Tokyo is expected to be tighter than usual due to power plant troubles and outages. To prevent the occurrence of large-scale power outages, it is very important to take power-saving actions here.
Air-conditioners, lights, and plugs” account for 85.5% of the total energy consumption. Therefore, the Office of Sophia Sustainability Promotion calls for the efficient use of air air-conditioners, lights, and plugs.
Specific power-saving actions include:
(1) Set the room temperature for air conditioning at 28°C (it is said that 28℃ is friendly to the earth and the human body).
(2) Turn off lights in rooms where the rooms are bright.
(3) Turn off the main switch of air conditioners lights, and equipment in classrooms, laboratories, and offices which are vacant.
Please save electricity as much as you can to avoid dehydration by using air conditioners and turning off lights that are not in use.
