【Research Area】
Given the rapid global expansion and institutionalization of international human rights norms in the latter half of the 20th century, I am interested in how international norms and state interests are negotiated to shape the extent to which codified protections and rights are conferred to globally itinerant populations. My research utilizes quantitative as well as qualitative methods (including Qualitative Comparative Analysis, or QCA), and draws from the theoretical insights of sociological neo-institutionalism and international relations (IR) constructivism.
